Company Overview

Our client is a precision aerospace component manufacturer producing high-spec machined, SMW and chemically etched components for the aerospace sector. They operate within a quality-driven, AS9100-compliant environment and are looking to strengthen their inspection and quality team.


Role Overview

We are seeking a Quality Engineer with strong CMM inspection experience. The successful candidate will primarily operate CMM equipment while supporting wider quality engineering activities within a precision aerospace manufacturing environment.

This role is hands-on and inspection-focused, with additional quality engineering responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and run CMM inspections using:

    • LK Altera 15.10.8

    • Camio (2022)

    • Focus (2021)

  • Execute pre-written CMM programs and perform dimensional inspections

  • Interpret and inspect components in line with engineering drawings and GD&T requirements

  • Produce and review inspection reports

  • Identify and manage non-conformances

  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions

  • Assist with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)

  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 and internal quality standards

  • Liaise with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues

Required Experience & Skills

  • Experience operating bridge-type CMM machines (LK experience desirable)

  • Working knowledge of Camio or similar CMM software

  • Strong understanding of GD&T

  • Experience inspecting precision machined components

  • Ability to read and interpret complex aerospace engineering drawings

  • Experience within an aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environment

  • Good understanding of quality processes and non-conformance management

Desirable

  • Some experience with CMM programming (not essential)

  • Knowledge of AS9100 standards

  • Experience with FAIR documentation

  • Exposure to chemically etched or SMW components

  • Detail-oriented and methodical

  • Confident working in a regulated aerospace environment

  • Able to work independently running inspection processes

  • Strong communication skills across production and engineering teams
