Location: UK wide (Home based with travel to any site)

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead in co-ordination of the delivery of Configuration Management capability
• Support the effective implementation of Configuration Management plans and policies
• Develop the Configuration baselines in align with the design review strategy and sharing these with the project
• Working with the Whole-ship Change and Configuration teams to make a major contribution to a strategic view for configuration management on the project
• Supporting the following activities from Configuration Management perspective:
• Establishment of Product Baselines
• Variant management from a Reference Ship Design
• Ship-to-Ship Applicability
• Design artefact and CAD Model Lockdown
• Development and delivery of Customer contract deliverables

Your skills and experiences:

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of configuration management processes for products
• Strong knowledge of complex engineering-to-order products, e.g. warships, aircraft, nuclear, and understanding of ‘system of systems’ relationships
• Knowledge of engineering and manufacturing bill of materials
• Knowledge of the Product Data Management and CAD toolsets used to implement Configuration Management, e.g. PTC Windchill, Siemens Team Centre
• Proven experience in a management level role

Degree qualified or equivalent experience, likely to be in a technology, engineering, science or IT related discipline. Some disciplines may require a Masters level education. Chartered Engineer, or other relevant, equivalent professional registration. Member of appropriate professional institution, ideally working towards Fellow.

Our Engineering Manager – Product Configuration Team:

As an Engineering Manager – Product Configuration, you will play a critical role within the Canadian Frigate Program (CSC) Product Configuration Management and wider team, bringing complex warship engineering product knowledge and experience to the Programme. This will be the lead role in ensuring the contractual requirements are being satisfied through effective implementation of Product Configuration Management practices and processes.
