Project Manager required for the Marine industry
Purpose of Role
The Project Management department is critical to the business as the main interface between the company and its customer. The project function incorporates the following: –
• Co-ordinate and expedite all aspects of the project including production, purchasing, commercial
• Sub-contractor and risk management on the project
• Familiarise and understand all aspects for specification, tender and associated documentation.
• Plan project from commencement to completion, working with other members of the team to ensure project safety, delivery, quality and profitability are met.
• Liaise with on-site Client team ensuring all issues are captured and documented;
• To manage, monitor, maintain and report the progress and financial achievement of the project to the senior management;
• To manage all aspects of production with regards to project delivery including but not limited to: resources – equipment and man power; suppliers;
• Overall responsible for project delivery and monitoring to ensure that at all times the department is working within the company’s current policies on financial constraints, quality requirements operational procedures and achieve client satisfaction.;
• Coach and develop Project Engineers in their functions, with the ultimate aim of completing their career path to the Project Manager position.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensuring compliance with the company Project Management procedure
• Planning and evaluating project requirements with Project Controllers/Supervisors and contractors and establish the necessary team and organise resources in conjunction with HR/purchasing as needed
• Identifying and management of risk and high-risk activities
• Daily management, monitoring and maintenance of costing information to ensure project profitability and accurate reporting, including costing additional scope. Including preparing project achievement and spend details for weekly contract review meetings
• Chairing and maintaining daily meetings and records with client/contractors and other business departments as needed
• Working with colleagues to ensure that customer requirements are met
• Building and maintaining partnerships/relationships with customers
• Project management of individual projects from planning to completion, including producing project schedules, worklists/packs, forecasts and associated materials
• Communicate regular project updates ensuring costing and financial information is accurate
• Meeting targets set by the company
• Fully responsible for project, to ensure delivery of projects safely, on time, within budget, high quality and to client satisfaction
• Maintaining and manage employee competency / training requirements by co-ordinating with the HR Department
• Taking a lead role in customer care, hospitality and entertainment as required and sanctioned by the Managing Director
• Working / liaising with all departments with regards to current / future projects requirements.
• Finalising and documenting all project paperwork including arranging/conducting project wash up meetings

Qualification and Experience
An Engineering qualification – preferably in marine applications
Experience in ship repairs
Experience of project managing mid to large-scale projects
Preferably experience gained in Marine/ Oil and Gas/Renewable industry.
