Quality Inspector

Our client, a market leader in manufacturing and engineering services, is looking for a Quality Inspector to join their Stansted base. The successful Quality Inspector applicant will report to the Chief Inspector and support the Quality department by ensuring all work is carried out to the required standards and meeting customer specifications. The primary duty of the Quality Inspector will be to conduct First Offs and Final Inspections of manufactured components.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Component Inspection: Inspect machined components to customer specifications prior to dispatch and at the first off stage.
  • CMM Usage: Utilise CMM with Virtual Dim’s software, working with 3D models.
  • Hand Tool Measurement: Measure components using various hand tools (vernier callipers, micrometres, etc.).
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to inspection procedures.
  • Inspection Reports: Produce inspection reports for FAIR completion.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date relevant records.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek to improve inspection activities.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Ensure cleanliness, neatness, and orderliness (5S) of your area of responsibility.
  • Documentation: Ensure all documentation aligns with customer and business requirements.
  • Additional Duties: Perform any other duties within your capabilities as directed by the Company.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Technical Experience: Previous technical experience in a fine limit manufacturing environment.
  • Inspection Experience: Previous experience in a similar role and using CMMs.
  • Problem-Solving: Knowledge of problem-solving techniques, including RCCA and 5Y’s.
  • PC Proficiency: Proficient in the use of PCs and related programs.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills.
  • Engineering Drawings: Good understanding of engineering drawings.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail.
  • Results Focused: Results-oriented mindset.
