Senior Production Scheduler

Hudson Shribman are searching for a Senior Production Scheduler for a leading precision engineering company that specialise in the manufacture of high quality components.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Production Scheduler

• Support planning objectives for all divisions on the Production schedule.
• Be able to deliver accurate capacity plans.
• Be able to communicate production plans and report directly back to the Operations Director.
• Monitor production performance KPI’s against production plans.
• Ensure Production Plans are produced and distributed as appropriate
• Chair daily production meetings with production cell managers and other members of SMT
• Ensure MRP calculation is run within Production System software.
• Ensure open Contract Reviews are performed within key timescale
• Liaise with customers to gain full understanding of their requirements and provide them with timely updates during production and delivery targets.
• Input data into our MRP system, reviewing contracts and raising accurate work instructions for each manufacturing process.
• Facilitate department’s productivity & quality enhancement.
• Ensuring that manufacturing times are recorded and evaluate costings, operations and maintenance.
• Manage working hours and overtime plans required for each order in line with production plans and delivery schedules.
• Provide flexibility to necessary scheduled changes and work with the engineering and quality teams to support and drive changes required.
• Good communication skills to ensure effective working relationships with colleagues in the production department, managers, directors and customers when required.
• Effective communication channels with Senior Management and colleagues, to ensure targets are achieved.

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Production Scheduler

• A preferred background in engineering would be an advantage.
• Previous experience in engineering/manufacturing environment understanding production targets and reducing costs.
• This is a fast paced role, requiring a logical approach and ability to think flexibly. You must be able to demonstrate detailed planning and organisational functions of production against all departments.
• Ability to work with Microsoft packages/Excel at an intermediate to advanced level.
• Be able to prioritise work load and schedules.
