A chemistry opportunity with has arisen for a high-level graduate of chemistry with an interest and experience in synthetic organic chemistry. This is a great role for a chemist to be involved with laboratory synthesis, analysis, and technical support to the team, collaborating to develop and deploy strategic capabilities to enable the next generation of product platforms. As chemist you will work with expert Chemistry Team New Business Development, as well support functions such as IP law and the Regulatory team.

You will:

  • Synthesise and analyse target molecules
  • Design, recommend and execute experimental programmes with support from supervisor
  • Design, recommend and develop testing methodology using rig test expertise
  • Participate in project / activity teams and present results and conclusions of the work
  • Liaise with external service providers to ensure analytical, bench and engine testing are delivered to a high quality standard and against established timelines

· Work with a wide range of technology areas and new ways of working

· Work with mixture of chemicals for testing, synthesis and related technology deployment activities.

· Opportunity to broaden network both inside and outside of the company

· Scope to grow the role in terms of increasing independence, coaching, communication and collaboration

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required:

· BSc or MSc or background in Chemistry, Synthetic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry

·

· Technical background – in any of these areas polymers, fuels, chemicals markets but can take from other industries pharma /materials etc.

· Experience of safe, rigorous delivery in a lab environment

· Draw technically sound conclusions from data, summarise, document and present results clearly on their work

· Competent user of data analysis packages and word processing software

· Exposure to multiple laboratory test methods (standard and custom)

· Experience of sustainable and/or green chemistry in an industrial setting desirable

· Strong safety focus HSE including a demonstrated ability to deliver high quality risk assessments.
