CNC Operator Setter

Our client, a market leader in manufacturing and engineering services, is looking for a Setter/Operator to join their Stansted base. Reporting to the Machine Shop Manager, the Setter/Operator will set up and operate CNC machines, ensuring all throughput meets quality, technical requirements, and timelines. The Setter/Operator Will need to fulfil the following:
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
- Programming: Program machines as required, based on technical information provided.
- Setup: Set up the necessary tooling to produce parts.
- First-Offs: Conduct first-off inspections to ensure parts meet quality and technical specifications.
- Batch Runs: Operate machines to produce product batches according to technical requirements.
- Quality Checks: Verify dimensions before passing parts for inspection.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety requirements.
- Compliance: Comply with quality and regulatory standards.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other tasks within your capabilities as directed by the company.
Experience and Skills Required:
- CNC Operation: Proven experience in a CNC Setter/Operator role, using 3/4/5 axis machines.
- Multi-Pallet Experience: Experience with multi-pallet systems.
- Software Proficiency: Essential experience with Heidenhain, Hurcos, and Mazatrol systems.
- Aerospace Experience: Previous aerospace experience is advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Must be able to program, set, and operate machines.
- Drawing Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Precision: Capability to work to tight tolerances.
- Measuring Equipment: Proficient in using measuring equipment such as vernier calipers and bore micrometers.
- Heavy Equipment Handling: Capable of using equipment to load heavy billets.
- Safety Conscious: Strong focus on maintaining a safe working environment.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with others.
