CNC Turner – Programmer/Setter/Operator

Hudson Shribman are searching for CNC Turner Programmer/Setter/Operator for a leading precision engineering company that specialise in the manufacture of high quality components.

The ideal candidate should have experience using mill turn machines and be able to program and machine demanding components in low volume to high standards, inspect their own work using a variety of inspection equipment including CMM.

Experience of CNC metal turning is essential with a proven track record in similar position. Additional training is available to candidates who show potential to expand their skills. The right candidate will be able to work under their own initiative and plan processes.

Responsibilities:

  • To manufacture components within tolerances specified on drawings
  • To develop machining strategies in line with the drawing specifications.
  • To program the CNC machines from drawings/models provided
  • To set up tooling for the job in hand
  • To monitor machines performance and assess for any maintenance requirements
  • To keep the machines in a clean and tidy condition
  • To work as part of a team to get jobs done when required
  • To record and report time spent on jobs as requested

Skills:

  • Fanuc controller programming
  • Other practical skills considered a mechanical maintenance
  • Diligent, hardworking individual with good attention to detail and approachable character

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

  • Basic 39 hour week with additional input required as when the need arises.

Education:

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
  • Engineering Qualifications (preferred)
