Sales Engineer 

Sales Engineer – Job Role:

We are a market leader in the manufacture of low-volume, high-quality, tubular and threaded components for various sectors, including Aerospace, F1, Oil and gas, and Defense industries. We are looking for a SALES / ESTIMATING ENGINEER with CNC Machining knowledge to join our Sales team on a full-time, permanent basis. 

This would suit a Sales Estimator, Engineering Subcontract Buyer / Expeditor, or previously experienced CNC machinist who is looking for a new challenge in an office environment where they can apply their excellent IT and communication skills to a customer-focused role.  

Sales Engineer – Responsibilities

  • Dealing with and processing of sales orders, enquiries, queries and quotes
  • Receiving sales orders and liaising with customers regarding product specifications, order details, delivery, and special arrangements
  • Regular liaison with customers building great customer relationships
  • Receive, review, and reply to Customer RFQs and their technical queries. 
  • Create timely and accurate estimates and quotations from customer enquiries and technical drawings.
  • Liaising with customers over the phone and via email, regarding technical and non-technical questions, providing a client-centric service.
  • Producing quotations to deadlines – estimating all machining, materials, and inspection times for in-house elements and incorporating externally sourced elements such as sub-contracts when applicable, developing new and existing supplier relationships.
  • Understand and identify machining methods of manufacture and select accurate cycle times (CNC Turning & Boring experience a distinct advantage)
  • Liaise with Production, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure accuracy and feasibility.

Remuneration: £30,000 to £40,000 per annum
Hours: 42.5 Hours
