What you’ll be doing:
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Supply Chain you will be responsible for transforming supplier development capability within the Naval Ship business and wider enterprise.
- Establishing and implementing a supplier development toolset, associated principles and processes
- Generating additional value and delivering Optimised Cost for the Naval Ships business
- Accountable for establishing a multi-functional approach to the mitigating of key business risks
- Responding to evolving business requirements, quickly leveraging relationships and utilising data to drive both operational & strategic delivery
- Conducting root cause analysis of supplier performance issues, developing and implementing recovery plans
- Undertaking assessments of suppliers to determine capability, capacity and suitability for new requirements
- Reporting business overview of supply chain status to prioritise suppliers needing support, then train and coach cross functional teams to clarify requirements, assess risk, identify opportunities and intervene to improve, across the whole supplier business
- Building and managing cross business strategic relationships and networks
Your skills and experiences:
- Experience in the development and implementation of supplier performance management and development tool sets
- Advanced understanding of the key drivers to supplier performance
- Ability to work at all levels in the supplier arena and lead cross functional teams
- Has a Safety, People, Quality, Delivery & Cost improvement approach (SPQDC)
- Strong knowledge of APQP/PPAP/FMEA quality principles
- Lean / 6sigma CI toolkit trained
- Continuous improvement and problem solving mind-set
- Relevant manufacturing/engineering qualifications / degree preferred
